Time Out Eating & Drinking Guide
2007 Runner Up Best Gastropub Of The Year
"The Roebuck's plate of Cumberland sausages with creamy mash & gravy was as good as that dish gets.
Strawberry & almond cake came recommended by our bubbly Antipodean waitress, paired with hazelnut ice cream, it was superb.
Changing real ales are listed alongside the food with tasting notes, an excellent touch."

"''The Roebuck is a reassuringly slick operation...the whole space is light, airy & appealing with the back opening onto a charming walled garden - a real suntrap. An extensive varied menu takes in gastropub classics with some experimentation including some exceptional fish dishes. Flavours sang even in the the straightforward dishes. Excellent value, service was swift & unobtrusive. The wine list is top notch.'' "

Square Meal Review
"At a spot on Chiswick High Road where business gets tricky & the route to Hammersmith starts to slip downmarket, The Roebuck was seen as one gastropub too many by local sceptics. Its savvy, worldly-wise owners (Lots Road in Chelsea, The Queen’s Arms in Pimlico) knew they could make no concessions in giving it broad appeal. So they mixed style, comfort & class with cocktails, sofas & chandeliers, & added a garden escape screened from the traffic, plus some great food – & now locals can barely stay away. A sophisticated £5 lunch draws in office workers & kids-at-school mums, while the daily changing menu (with additions for dinner) lifts old favourites above the ordinary: cod with borlotti beans, black olives & cherry tomatoes or cauliflower, sorrel & parmesan risotto on a typical day. Accessible wines range from ‘clean & easy going’ to ‘rich & gutsy’. "

Glowing Review
"I need to revisit my constant claim that High Road House is Chiswicks busiest restaurant. This sunday the Roebuck was absolutely heaving. Its no coincidence (lets face it W4 is no slacker for places to eat) for this food led pub is terrific. Cracking Pate and Chutney and mozzarella for starters, Terrific roast beef and Aubergine to follow - the pregnant one also managed to fit in a pear & almond cake - red wine, papers and our baby asleep all the way through. Almost felt like a sunday lunch used to be bwhk (before we had kids). Really liked the Roebuck, appreciated the 'on it' staff charging around with total efficiency. Would we go again...you bet
